There are people who view the net without pictures. Giving every image and button a description is a lot of work. Tedious. But - who is to click on what when there is no alternate description for the image?

What completely knocked me out is the fact that there are people who view the net with a 16-colour-monitor. Even at work. Colour codes. What are the codes for a monitor showing only 16 colours? The basics of hexadecimal colours and RGB and...

Different browsers. It takes time to find the fine differences that upset your HTML document, it might be only a paragraph break in your page that doesn't show in one browser, but the other browser shows it. One of the few occasions I actually yelled at the box of plastic, electronics & glass on my desk. As maybe somebody would say... have a chip.

Different resolutions. My first page looked a mess viewing it with anything lower than 800x600. Designs have to compromise again. Now there are many pages on the web that opt for a fixed width, no matter what resolution your monitor is running on. A good idea.

Editor. Finally I've made up my mind that that no matter how many browsers, tools and whatever applications there might be, a simple word editor is the best and easiest solution to write html pages. All the hassle to end up with an editor. Hhhmmm ;) -May '98-
