Lanzarote, Canary Islands (1995...)

Due to the huge influence Manrique (an artist) had on his home Island, basically no building has more than 3 or 4 stories and all houses are painted white with frames and doors painted either blue or green. Hopefully this will stay that way in the future.

Every year I've been trying to test one of the Canary Islands, somehow I always get stuck on Lanzarote again. You can explore culture and history and it's always interesting even if you've seen it before, many possibilities for sports, nightlife should you want it, solitude in case you choose to be alone. I simply like that place. And I've found the biggest spider I've ever seen in my life somewhere in the middle of lava rocks on a biking tour. Doesn't mean to say I wasn't scared.
