New Zealand, North Island (1998)

New Zealanders love barbecues! Family life is important to people in NZ and they get together for BBQs all the time.

Wellington - Rarely had so much fun going shopping! That place is simply fantastic. I got the impression that the city also gets its liveliness from all the people moving back and forth between the Islands. The setting reminded me of San Francisco, somehow.

Nightlife either happens at a BBQ or in Napier. The only place where I had the feeling that pubs and clubs are open half the night. Even though nobody was around. Why?

  //

Rotorua - Chemicals unite! You can take the most colourful photos of our earth. People say the area it too touristic and crowded, it's not true. New York City is crowded. Not the area around Rotorua.

Lake Taupo, the biggest lake in the southern hemisphere is a replica of Lake Tahoe in California: the mountains, the setting, everything! Sailing is a must.
